Still getting used to slow Kolkata work culture, staying in boredom guest house where I have been placed and that too inside campus. Yes it is like a Jail with exception that you are free to go only on weekends. So what to do on weekends and that too alone, only 2 best friend of yours one movie and other books, well I choose the former one and saw 3 different types of movie and as I don’t have much to do right now, just wanted to share reviews of these movie.
1. Jail, good one
Yes this was the first film I watched and as my thinking was right there were few people who came to watch, but I like intense movies with gripping human insights shown and as my expectations didn’t go wrong, Jail turned out to be a great watch especially if you are alone, it is worth a watch. I mean there is not much as a plot or story but every character is well defined and you can see the pain and real trauma that these criminals undergo, i.e. when they are caught. Shown as real as possible, after watching you will feel that judicial system in our country needs revamp immediately. Though Neil Mukesh isn’t a great actor but its sole director’s movie. Also I like Madhur’s movie though some say he exaggerates a lot but who cares. I liked the 2 characters in the film, one off course neil’s custody (watch him go wild when he beats up a fellow prisoner), second one is of Manoj’s character. Actually he is a winner here, absolutely amazing act by manoj, I hope we get to see such kind of role from manoj more often. Thumbs up for Jail.
2. Kurbaan, not good enough
Alright they have made path breaking film about extremists and religion tolerance, and yes kareena and saif did a decent job here, but what I felt was that something missing, don’t know what but really didn’t like the way the movie was going. I felt like it was revamping of New York film, even though plot and story of both were different but I liked New York film more (minus the climax which was childish). Only good thing about the film was that there were no songs, I mean songs were there but was well executed. Many people argued that this maybe a decent effort to bring about Global terrorism, but I felt otherwise. It clearly shows extremism at its peak. Again it shows that anyone can get to India, become Indian and get a Visa to US. It again shows something wrong in our Visa Consulate. High time our consulate become as strict as of US or UK, otherwise we are in deep trouble.

3. Ajab Prem Ki Gazab Kahaani, not my kind of movie but still a light movie
Always desert is served after the dinner, so this was apt movie after seeing 2 intense and dark movie. Ajab… was light comedy, yes rightly targeted towards mushy mushy young lovers and college going kids. I would say a decent effort reminds more 80s and 90s off course not the dakus and family ones. I kind of not liked it so much but was still refreshed a bit cause it was not that hard hitting emotions and melodramatic foolish movie, director seemed to hit a right chord and target it at appropriate time. This movie might be a hit in India but to me I won’t buy it, ya OK one time watch
