Swine ?

Often heard this from all girls and guys telling you bloody swine. Now mind it the same has made a strong statement in the name of spreading epedimic (if I am not exagerating like media) in India. No one knows what to do, everbody helpless, Fear is creeping in all major cities, Masks are out, only Kids seems to look happy, as they are getting unexpected holiday.

I hope this situation fades off very soon like bird flu and others.

Have you read Raja Sen's film review (Rediff)

Some people are meant to get bashed, whatever they do..... they always get brickbats. Same is the case with rediff hindi film review, from Raja Sen. Check his review. Looks like this man is a insane personality and also depressed by life. Whatever he reviews gets loads of abuses from rediff viewers, well you read the review every friday on your own risk but you will laugh at the viewers responce, after the column ends. This person Raja sen also has a Hate Campaign in his name in Orkut. Even good films are so down graded by this jerk that now it feels that if Raja Sen critisizes a movie, that movie is daam good.

Once again check out the rediff comments on Raja Sen column, simly hillarious....

Some web sites just don't need a change....

I have been using HDFC online banking for some 8-9 years now and since then I haven't seen much of a change in their online banking site. And I don't see any reason why they should change ? It is so clear and to the point that even a non computer chap can easily navigate his or her account details, which is totally opposite with ICICI or SBI, which keep on changing, why because users are not happy with the way the site has been structured, too many clicks and too complicated layout. Make it straight dude, too much of information in clustured manner in a single page is harmful and users get frustrated seeing so much of content and links in one page.

Operation wise HDFC bank maybe a bit backward, but their website especially online banking is ideal, see it, use it and close it.... thats the funda.

Airports - Bangalore vs Hyderabad

New domestic and international airport in Bangalore and Hyderabad maybe too far from the city but both looks elegant and truly with par with other international airports. I happen to work in Hyderabad for some time and was regular flyer between both sectors, which make me eager to write on which is better.

Hyderabad, Shamshabad Airport is a clear winner, Bangalore Airport may look good , but the way Hyderabad Airport layout and architecture is done is simply fabulous. Only good point about Bangalore Airport is that there is only one entry and exit points, I mean not the gates but the Entrance. In Hyderabad, it sometimes becomes a bit messy near the entrance when it is over crowded, but yet manageble.

Regarding Food and Shops, again in here Hyderabad is far more superior than Bangalore, First time I have seen a Prayer room (for Namaaz), smoking zone and a bar inside Indian Airport, must say very bold move...... Hope that all other airports follow the same trend

Perfect Verdict (2003 Mumbai Blast case)

This is one quick verdict and a perfect one. People behind this, threesome who were been found guilty face their destiny. There is no need to cry, you guys have done a horrifying SIN already, so why now seek mercy. I hope the case doesn't go to higher court now and gets dragged.... and most importantly these good for nothing NGOs should not hinder this death sentence.

Who is a Good Manager ?

Managing people is always important task for any company or if we talk about IT, a project. We Indians (Managers) though we are still on learning curve, but still have a long way to go. Not many are efficient and know the perfect way to manage. But this is not a art or rocket science.

I have come across many managers in my career, but hardly I could find a perfect manager, who is supportive and yet strong enough to lead. Many in India still feel that Manager is there only to BOSS over their team. I happen to see some of very good speech on Satyam Summit on Leadership, which really inspired me, the way some of eminent speaker spoke about Good and Bad Leadership (though practically I don't know how good they are)

In one of my projects me and one of my colleague were working for Dell project in their campus and project was doing a detailed Usability Study and improvising and Elliminating the loopholes in their present tool. Task was straight forward, in Project Manager's words this was a simple UI enhancement project, but in Dell it involved people in all geographies, so Dell appointed Mark as representative to coordinate between us and the end user. I was completely bowled over by his dedication and professionalism. He turned out to be perfect manager everyone is looking for..... How ?, first of all he used to listen to us and appreciate our approach, he patiently used to go through all the UI documents and used to schedule interviews for us through LIVE Meeting. As India and US timings were tough to work, he used to come at 6 in the morning and also at times 10-11 in the night so that team in India (i.e. we) don't get over worked. He used to schedule meetings (live meeting) and would ensure that person attends it. At times when a person doesn't turn up, he used to apologize to us gracefully. As the project went on for months, our comfort level became much more higher and we simply loved working with Mark. So well was his managerial skills that we were able to achieve the Task smoothly and also got lots of applauds from all of Dell as well as our management.

That is what I call a Good Manager. A person who stands by his team in Bad and Worse phase and one who supports them in a Good Manager. Perfect Manager is one who gains respect and does not demand respect.
